We had a fantastic stay at Le Relais Du Chapeau Rouge in Saint-Loup-Lamaire. The two ladies who run the place were outstanding. They were friendly, efficient, and accommodated all of our requests with a smile. The food was also a highlight - it was well-presented and incredibly enjoyable. The village itself is absolutely charming, with narrow streets and a lovely garden where we could safely store our bikes. And all of this came at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway off the beaten path in rural France.

The hotel's terrace, overlooking the beautiful garden, was like a delightful playground for children. It was a great place for my little ones to run around and have fun while I enjoyed a peaceful moment sipping on a glass of regional wine in the sun-drenched patio.
Limited dinner options.

Ate traditional food at the restaurant, tried regional wines, wifi all over the place, had drinks at the bar, went shopping.
Who needs to be welcomed anyway? I love paying for breakfast and being ignored, it's such an exquisite experience.

Our stay at this 17th Century hotel was a great value for the money. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location in a charming historic village was perfect. The staff at the hotel were all extremely friendly and welcoming.
The morning meal could have been improved by offering a wider selection, including items like water on the buffet.

The hotel's terrace, with its picturesque view of the garden, transformed into a lively playground for the little ones. It was like watching a symphony of joy unfold amidst the backdrop of nature's beauty.
Poor breakfast selection.

We stayed in a wonderful property in a charming, little village in Poitou-Charentes. The hotel is tucked away close to the river Thouet, with lovely narrow streets. The garden was delightful, such a perfect place to dine and enjoy drinks. Our room was great, clean, and well-appointed. Breakfast was plentiful and had everything we needed.
The service was subpar, with no one around to welcome us when we arrived.

The rooms at Le Relais Du Chapeau Rouge are really cool and modern. They have these LCD TVs with TNT, which makes me feel like I'm in a fancy movie theater! Plus, each room is uniquely decorated, so it feels like you're staying in a place that's just for you. I love how the rooms also have their own bathrooms, so there's no need to share with anyone else. It's like having your own little private oasis!
Honestly, I did find one thing that I didn't love about this place. They have tea/coffee makers in the rooms, which is great, but I wish they also had a seating area.

The hotel was in a good location, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. the room was clean and comfortable with good amenities. There was also a nice selection of food available for breakfast.
The staff was not very attentive or welcoming. When I had questions or concerns there was a lack of interaction and help from the staff.

quaint rural France gem with friendly staff, delicious meals, and charming garden for dining and relaxing.
Unresponsive to email communication.

A meal at the restaurant was decent enough, and the regional wines were delightful. Free WiFi was a lifesaver, especially since there was nothing else to do here. Oh, and there were some shops, but they were as exciting as watching paint dry.
The lack of entertainment options made me want to jump for joy. Not.

Stumbled upon this quaint hotel nestled in a charming French village. Lovely garden for lazy afternoons and good breakfast selection. Helpful staff who provided suggestions for walks along the river and pointed us to the best patisserie in town. Close to local restaurant with delicious French cuisine and an excellent wine selection. Great value for the price we paid and easy to find with convenient parking nearby.
Slight communication barrier with some staff members who didn't speak much English, but it didn't detract from our overall positive experience. Only one minor inconvenience: no iron available in the room, but we found one in the utility room.
